Our Story
We’re Veronika, Adam, and our two little explorers, Janka and Luca. We are a Hungarian family on a mission to discover the world one backpack at a time.
Over the past five years, we have traveled across Europe, India, Malaysia, and Tanzania, immersing ourselves in different cultures and landscapes. Travel has always been a big part of our lives. Now, with two small adventurers by our side, we are excited to show that traveling, backpacking, and hiking with children is not only possible, but truly magical.
Janka, our curious two and a half year old, has already explored nine countries. She may be small, but her journey has already been big. One of our most memorable adventures was a sixteen day Balkan road trip. We hiked in the stunning mountains of Montenegro and explored Serbia, Bosnia, and Croatia along the way. In Slovenia, we experienced camping, glamping, and farm stays together. We spent sunny summer days swimming in the Adriatic Sea in Croatia. We celebrated Janka’s first birthday in Italy at beautiful Lake Garda, and her second birthday at a charming agro camping in Hungary.
Luca will soon turn one, and she has already joined us in discovering the magic of Transylvania and the sunny coast of Alicante. Watching our children experience new places, tastes, and cultures reminds us why we love this lifestyle so much.
You might be wondering about the name Little Bridges. The “Little” represents our daughters. The “Bridges” symbolize connection. Through travel and hiking, we connect cultures, countries, and people. We also hope to connect with other families who dream of exploring the world with their children.
Through our stories, tips, and honest experiences, we want to inspire you to step outside, pack that backpack, and create unforgettable memories with your family.
Join us as we continue building Little Bridges, one adventure at a time.
Hi, I’m Veronika.
I’m a mother of two curious little explorers, a passionate traveler, and a family travel planner who believes that having children does not mean giving up adventure. It simply means experiencing it in a new way.
We live just outside of Budapest, Hungary, where our days are filled with playground discoveries, small hikes, and constant planning for our next journey. Travel has always been part of who I am, and now it is something I get to share with my children.
Before becoming a full time mum, I worked for national and international organizations and earned degrees in International Relations, Law and Economics, as well as an MBA. I followed my passion for yoga and I completed a yoga teacher training course, taught Hatha yoga, and organized yoga and hiking retreats that brought people together in nature. I also became a certified tour guide and led bus tours to Paris, France, which was an unforgettable experience.
I speak Hungarian, English, French, and Russian, and I have lived in several countries including the United States, Turkey, Tunisia, France, Italy, Germany, India, and Thailand. Living abroad shaped me deeply. It taught me openness, flexibility, and the beauty of seeing the world from different perspectives.
One of my most memorable adventures was hiking to the summit of Mount Rinjani in Indonesia. Reaching 3,726 meters after a challenging climb tested both my body and mind, but the sunrise from the top is something I will never forget. That moment reminded me how powerful we can be when we step outside our comfort zone.
Today, as a mother and family travel planner, I help families create beautiful travel experiences that are realistic, beautiful and full of joy. I know that traveling with children can feel overwhelming. I also know that it can be magical. The quality time, the unexpected moments, the beauty in your child’s eyes when they discover something new.
Through this website, I share our experiences, practical tips, hiking ideas, and family friendly travel inspiration. My goal is simple. I want to encourage parents to keep exploring, to stay curious, and to show their children how beautiful and big the world is.
Thank you for being here. I’m so happy to have you on this journey with us.
